8 Months Post-Op

Not much has changed with my nose. It still is a little stiff when I wiggle it side-to-side but I suspect that is permanent. My nose looks pretty much the same as it did 5 months post-op. You can see a little bit of the curve but I love the fact I have full breathing ability.

If nothing changes then I'll post another photo at 1 year but I'm pretty sure this is how my nose is always going to look like now.

  1. Did the dryness/sensitivity to cold go away? I am at month two and any time the ac blows it burns a bit.

  2. It did thankfully! It took about 6 months to not be bothered by cold anymore.

  4. Hi Erica! I wanted to ask about swelling and the appreance of the nose. I'm 3 months post op and my nose is still bigger than when I went in for surgery. I wanted to know how long until the swelling goes down and back to normal? My BF tried to tell me that it's impossible for my nose to be bigger because a septoplasty can't change nose shape, but it's obvious to me it's larger at the tip. Mine is still very sore on the left side, but has been getting better, and my teeth are becoming less numb.

How long did you feel it took for the swelling to be completely gone?

Thank you so much for this blog!!!

    1. Looking at the photo I posted on this post (8 months post) VS me years out... my nose looks a little smaller. Your BF is correct that we're our own worst critic but it'll take a least a year! I know at 3 months out I still had a large nose. Don't give up hope, it just takes time.

    1. My nose did reduce by like 25% but it looks pretty much the same. That small curve is still there but at least it is cute and not bulbous.
